Financing your property in Italy

It is (almost) impossible to get financing for your property in Italy from a English, Dutch or Belgian bank. It is sometimes possible to obtain financing on the equity of your home, which you can then use to finance your home in Italy.

Italian banks generally provide financing up to approximately 80% of the value of the property, but this only applies if you have been a resident in Italy for 3 years. If you are not already, which is usually the case, the banks are willing to finance up to about 50-60% of the value, if your income allows it.
